The amount of rainwater you will collect is going to determine your collection area. The roof of your home or garden shed will be the most practical areas to catch and collect rain. Measure the outside of your home including the overhang. This will give you the approximate area for collecting rain. For example an area of 1,000 square feet you can expect to collect approximately 600 gallons for every 1 inch of rainfall. The Carolina Rain Barrel comes in a kit with complete instructions or fully assembled and ready to connect to your downspout. Plain barrels are also available upon request.
The Carolina Rain Barrel is customed made from recycled materials and has an approximate 55 gallon capacity. Its open head allows for easy cleaning and includes a safety locking band to seal the barrel. You will have a fitting in order to link to another barrel, overflow connector for attaching a garden hose and a brass spigot at the bottom of the barrel. All fittings are threaded for a secure fit.
Multiple barrels can be placed around your home at various downspouts to collect rainwater where you need it the most.
